Whenever possible, I use leftover carpet from the original installation. If matching carpet is not available, a donor piece may sometimes be taken from an inconspicuous location such as the back of a closet.

  The direction, texture, color and pile of the donor carpet are carefully matched to the existing carpet to help create the cleanest repair possible.

  HOW I REPAIR DAMAGED CARPET

1. INSPECT THE DAMAGE

I first inspect the burn and surrounding carpet to determine the best repair method.

2. REMOVE THE DAMAGED AREA

The burned or melted section is carefully cut out using professional carpet-repair techniques while keeping the repair area as controlled as possible.

3. PREPARE THE MATCHING CARPET

A matching donor piece is cut to fit the damaged area. The carpet pile direction is carefully aligned with the existing carpet.

4. SECURE THE REPAIR

The replacement carpet is professionally secured using the appropriate carpet-repair adhesive, backing or seaming method for the job.

5. BLEND THE REPAIR

The edges and carpet fibers are carefully worked and blended into the surrounding carpet to help make the repair as inconspicuous as possible.
